I’m a Sound Designer, Video Editor and a Documentary Producer with a passion for beautiful imagery and visual storytelling. I have carved a successful career in Kenya and currently work across projects in East Africa.

My education background is in TV Production coupled with over eight years of experience in the film and television industry has provided me with a focused set of technical and creative skills. I have done extensive work in long-form broadcast television as well as short-form online and high-end corporate content. This includes working on a wide range of genres including documentary, factual entertainment, reality TV, news, current affairs, comedy, lifestyle, children's television, and films. My clients include Mnet, NTV, Amazon Prime, KTN, KBC, among other leading East African networks. I have also completed work for top production companies; Mediae, Medeva, Zamaradi Ltd, Well Told Story, Ecila Films, Jiffy Pictures, MoFilms, and DocuBox Kenya. This extensive experience has provided me with an adaptable and effective approach to any project I undertake.

I am a creative and resourceful editor with a confident sense of narrative, emotion, and rhythm. I pride myself in strong editorial skills and can help you mould your story. In fact, it is the storytelling side of things that I enjoy the most about my job.

Every project I work on teaches me something new. This satisfies my curious mind and it’s this reason that I love telling stories. I am always on the lookout for opportunities to work with other professionals and this has led me to a long exciting career spanning a range of subjects and formats.

TELEVISION

I am adept in FCP, Adobe software, Avid, and Pro Tools.

I have a well-rounded skill set in Video editing, from data wrangling, media management, editing and trimming the project, editing coherent unbiased stories, transitions, effects, titles, audio mixing, and mastering and finally outputting it for TV or online platforms.

I use different edit supporting systems such as File Transfer and Frame.io.

AWARDS

Sound designed 'Mission To Rescue' by Foxton Media, which won the prestigious ZIFF award 2021, as the best feature film in East Africa. Selected to represent Kenya at the 94th Edition of the Oscars Academy Awards, Won awards at the Kalasha International Film and TV Awards, and the 2021 edition of the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA).

Sound designed 'Cops&Corpses; Victims cry for justice' a film by Maurice Oniang'o, that is an official selection for the 42nd Durban International Film Festival. 2021.

I have been awarded an award by the Women in Film Awards - Kenya as the Best Sound Designer, 2020 and
nominated by Kalasha Awards 2020 for the best sound designer category for the film ‘Midlife Crisis’

I have Produced and Edited an award-winning documentary dubbed Vanishing Vultures. It has won the best film Jubilee Arts International Festival, Lisbon, Portugal 2018, Zanzibar International Film Festival Best TV Series Non-Fiction (Giving Nature a Voice) 2018, won Bird &Wildlife Photo Festival Nanyuki, Kenya, Won the Vancouver International Bird Festival Vancouver, British Columbia.

Content producer for the Whitley Awards 2018 winner ‘Dr. Munir Virani’s short feature is narrated by Sir David Frederick Attenborough.

Editor and Sound Mixer for the Chevrolet commercial commissioned by MOFILMS UK. I, 2017. Second runners up worldwide.

Produced and Edited a documentary dubbed Climate Change Adaptation – Dakatcha woodlands - It scooped the African Climate Change and Environmental Reporting (ACCER) awards, Winner TV category, 2016.

Won the best film ‘Indulge me’ at the Machakos film festival 2015. Editor and Sound Designer.

Produced and Edited a climate change documentary dubbed Blending in – It scooped various awards including the African Climate Change and Environmental Reporting (ACCER) awards 1st runners up, won the USA CSR award at the Mohammed Amin Africa Media Awards. It also won at the Overlook 2014-5th CinemAvvenire Film Festival- Humans and other tales section and the Action4Climate Awards.

Sound designed a radio feature story ‘Football Fanatics’ nominated for the CNN African Journalist Media Awards 2014.

FILM

I am a creative storyteller that uses different visual effects to enhance a story. I have learned to creatively use visual effects to strengthen the story and the artistic vision hence communicating the desired idea to the audience.

DOCUMENTARY

I have produced and edited stories of communities that are seeking justice from governments, stories of untold health conditions, stories of people impacting communities, environmental stories and many others that are significant and create impact.
